Spring Term Week – 17.03.23
Firstly, on behalf of the Flowery Friends team, I would like to thank you for your generous donations that will help support our Easter events. Alongside our annual Easter Egg Bingo event that takes place on Monday, we will be having a special Easter Raffle! Tickets will be on sale from Friday. These will be priced at 50p a strip.
Next week marks the start of Ramadan for our Muslim families. This is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, charity, & community. We will be finding out more in our assemblies next week and will be thinking of you all over the next 30 days. We are looking forward to opening our special advent calendars and marking Ramadan by promoting ‘acts of kindness’. Alongside our celebrations in school, our Flowery Friends team will be holding our first family Eid celebration on Wednesday 26th April.
This week we have started our pupil progress meetings. It is a great chance to celebrate the progress children have made, especially in our new phonics programme. We are extremely grateful for your support with reading, this is the key to helping your children progress and develop good learning behaviours. The teachers have all reflected on the children’s next steps and looked at further support that can be put in place to ensure children build on this success. This information will be shared during parents’ evening which takes place on Wednesday 29th March. Please note our spring term meetings will be held virtually. Further details will be announced through the MCAS app. Please contact admin@floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk if you require support in accessing the app.
Finally, I would like to wish all those celebrating a Happy Mothers Day. A special mention to our Flowery Friends team who organised the Mother’s Day craft activities. I know how much the children enjoyed the sessions and know they are keen to share their creations with the special people in their life.
