What a lovely end to the half term! The children have loved taking part in our arts week and are keen to share their creations with those at home. Check out their amazing work on our Instagram page (@floweryfieldprimary), and the Facebook page. There are lots of creative activities going on within our local libraries and art galleries. Many thanks to our Flowery Friends team and all those that attended our Spooky Soiree. It was great to see so many people dressing up and having fun. I am extremely grateful to the team who work behind the scenes to plan these events but we are in urgent need of further help due to our growing school roll. Our next Flowery Friends meeting is on Wednesday 12th November at 3 30.
All parents should have received an announcement regarding parents’ evening. This takes place on Wednesday 12th November. This will be a face-to-face event to enable you to speak with your child’s teacher and review your child’s progress. Appointments are booked through the MCAS app.
Following the half term break, our after-school clubs will continue. These continue to take place until the end of November. We still have a few places remaining for our wrap around fun which operates between 7 30 and 5 30. Please speak with the office if you would like to reserve a regular place. On the run up to Christmas, we are also able to offer ad hoc places, but children must be registered, and places will need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Finally, I would like to remind families that we have set the children a learning challenge over the half term break. We are asking them to consolidate their learning in a creative way, by producing something inspired by their history topic. We look forward to seeing your creations on our return to school.
Wishing you all an enjoyable half term.
Mrs Claire Silk
IMPORTANT NEWS
Please can we remind parents that pick up is restricted to parents, carers and pupils in receipt of a disability badge. We ask that no cars are left unattended at any time and that one disabled space is left available for non-mobile children. Please can you also ensure you refrain from parking on Zig Zags.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ONLINE SAFETY
Whatever the age of your child they will receive good online safety education in school, from early years through to college. But as parents and carers you need to know about and keep up with the risks and issues our children may face online. Importantly, we also need to know where to go for extra support. This week’s update focuses on risk and harm.
It also focuses on the 4C's which refers to: Content, Contact, Conduct and Commerce. The 4C's is the easiest way of understanding risk regardless of whether you think you are tech savvy or not. Please click here for this week’s video link: https://vimeo.com/1113524829/eb399b817b
