FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS 08.05.26
Despite it being a short week in school, the children have thrown themselves into every learning opportunity.
We’ve relaunched our Tree House as a calm, cosy space where pupils can relax with friends and enjoy their favourite books, and it’s been wonderful to see so many enthusiastic readers. Building on this success, our House of Froggy and Reading Champions are now working together to re‑establish our school library. Thanks to a generous donation from the Literacy Trust, we already have a fantastic collection of books waiting for their new home.
We’re incredibly grateful to the families who have offered their time to support our library project. Our first community event will be our Eid celebration on Wednesday 17th June, an after‑school gathering filled with fun activities and tasty treats to celebrate what makes our community so special. Our next planning meeting will take place on Monday 18th May at 9am.
Across our wider curriculum, our focus on history continues to spark curiosity and help pupils understand how people and places have changed over time. Our younger children have loved learning about what makes a monarch—including a special visit from the king himself—while Year 2 have been exploring Victorian life by looking at how transport has evolved. Older pupils have built on this knowledge through their study of the Industrial Revolution and its powerful impact on Greater Manchester.
In Years 3 and 4, children have been developing the essential skills they need for their upcoming geography fieldwork. Year 3 have been exploring different landscapes and learning how physical and human features are shown on maps, while Year 4 have been practising how to use a compass to navigate their surroundings with confidence.
Finally, we want to wish our Year 6 pupils the very best with their SATs, along with other year groups completing assessments. These tests only capture a small snapshot of your child’s learning—they don’t measure their determination, positive attitudes, creativity, or the many ways they shine every day. We are incredibly proud of all our children and know they will continue to succeed as they move through school and prepare for high school. Over the weekend, we encourage you to reflect on just how far your child has come and remind them of how amazing they truly are.
Wishing you a lovely weekend
Mrs Silk

Uganda Day
Following the success of our previous appeal, we are pleased to announce that we will be holding a day for Uganda on Thursday 21st May 2026, in conjunction with schools across our Trust. Throughout the day children will be finding out more about Uganda, taking part in an African dance and learning a special song to share with our friends overseas. Children are encouraged to wear black, yellow, red and white linking to the flag of Uganda, and bring a donation of £1 towards the fundraising effort.
Help Needed
During our final term, we will be supporting our children in finding out more about the world around them. We are looking for parents who would be willing to come in and speak to our children about the important jobs you do in and around our community. Please feel free to come and speak with myself or Mr Smith if this is something you feel you can help with.
