Thank you for all your support with our Red Nose Day events! We have been overwhelmed by the number of generous donations we have received.

This week we have started our pupil progress meetings.  It is a great chance to celebrate the progress children have made, especially in phonics!   We are extremely grateful for your support with reading, this is the key to helping your children progress and develop good learning behaviours. The teachers have all reflected on the children’s next steps and looked at further support that can be put in place to ensure children build on this success.  This information will be shared during parents’ evening which takes place on Tuesday 26th March.   Please note our spring term meetings will be held virtually.  Further details will be announced through the MCAS app.  Please contact admin@floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk if you require support in accessing the app.

Our assemblies this week have focused on Ramadan which started at the beginning of the week.  The children have been keen to share how Muslims celebrate Ramadan through prayer, charity and fasting. We have looked at the importance of kindness and discussed good deeds we can carry out during Ramadan. We discussed how kindness features in all our world religions and how important it is within our community.  Please encourage your children to take part in our ‘random acts of kindness’ challenge.   As in previous years, all children will be celebrating Eid as a reward for their acts of kindness following the Easter break.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend

Punctuality and Absence

School starts at 8 45 and closes at 3 15.  Please can we ask families to ensure children arrive on time as lateness disrupts learning and results in children missing valuable learning opportunities.

Likewise, if your child is going to be absent from school, please ring and provide a reason for their absence prior to the start of the school day.  Parents are able to leave a message on our automated system.

Flowery Friends

Our Flowery Friends team have lots of events planned over the coming weeks.  Our next event is our Easter Egg Bingo which takes place on the 27th March. This is a chance for families to come together to win lots of chocolate prizes.  Please note all children attending the event will leave with a prize. After half term, we will also be holding our Eid celebration.  Following the success of last year’s event, we have expanded capacity to ensure more families can get involved.  Our team has lots of things planned, including new inflatables, craft events, party games and of course lots of delicious food!  The event takes place on Wednesday 17th April and tickets go on sale on Monday 25th March.  Both events sold out last year so we would recommend purchasing tickets early.
