FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
27.02.26
Firstly, we would like to thank all the families who attended this week’s communication events. We are sure you were as impressed as we were with the children’s enthusiasm for learning, their depth of knowledge and their fantastic oracy skills.
Our Year 5 pupils showed great sensitivity and maturity as they shared the story of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and their journey to “Freedom”. Meanwhile, our younger pupils delighted us all with their knowledge of the amazing creatures who live under the sea!
This week, we also had the pleasure of taking our youngest children to the Sealife Centre. Their behaviour was exemplary and several visitors commented on their enthusiasm and impressive knowledge of the sea creatures. Some of our braver pupils even had the opportunity to touch a starfish!
During assemblies, we have proudly showcased our home learning projects. It has been wonderful to see children bringing learning to life through poetry, creative art, models, and much more. Many families extended this learning at home with visits to the Anderson Air Raid Shelters, The Imperial War Museum, and the Science and Industry Museum. A special thank‑you to all families who completed our QR quizzes too!
Next Thursday, we will be celebrating World Book Day. This year, we are encouraging children to share something connected to their current learning. Our younger pupils are invited to wear their pyjamas for a cosy reading celebration. We look forward to sharing our love of books and the wonderful range of stories we have in school. On Thursday, there will be a Used Book Sale in the hall. On Friday, we will be joined once again by Usborne Books, giving families the opportunity to spend their World Book Day voucher.
Next Friday, will be 'Made for this Game' - a special day all about girls’ football. This day is part of a national celebration showing that football is for everyone, and that girls of all ages can play, enjoy and succeed in the game. Our four 'Game Changers' from Y5 and Y6 will be running sessions throughout the day. If your daughter wishes to take part, please ensure she has trainers in school on Friday.
In response to parent feedback, we have organised a series of workshops to support families with routines, eating habits, and emotional regulation. The first workshop, focusing on supporting children to try new foods, will take place on Wednesday 4th March. Please book your place through the MCAS app.
Finally, a reminder that breakfast provision is available from 8:30am. This service remains free of charge, but all places must be booked through MCAS to ensure appropriate staffing and food preparation. Early drop‑off is only for families accessing the breakfast offer. All other pupils should enter through their classroom doors or, for KS2, line up on their allocated playground.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Kind regards
Mrs Silk

School Meals
Our new Spring/Summer menu is now available within the My Child at School App. We have asked us to remind all families to ensure all school meals are booked through the app. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in food waste and lack of availability of food. It is essential that all families secure their child’s meal through the app. Please contact the office if you need support with this.
