FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your amazing support with our events this week.
On Monday, we welcomed visitors from Enquire Learning Trust to reflect on the progress we have made this year. Throughout school they witnessed the strong relationships between adults and pupils, enthusiastic and engaged learners, adaptive approaches ensuring participation for all and high expectations for learning. Our children were keen to talk to our visitors and explain what makes Flowery such a special place to learn.
On Tuesday, we said goodbye to Mr G following 25 years of dedication to Flowery. Classes across school created their own tributes to Mr G. Children in KS1 retold a familiar story from Mr G’s earlier teaching career, whilst children in KS2 rewrote lyrics to some familiar pop songs. We are extremely grateful to our kitchen team who cooked up a themed lunch in honour of Mr G and Mr Al Ali who organised a tennis tournament across KS2.
On Wednesday, we hosted our annual Eid celebration. It was such a lovely atmosphere and seemed to be enjoyed by all who attended. This event demonstrated the strength of our community, bringing lots of people from different background to celebrate and raise money for an important cause. Your support has been phenomenal. Special thanks to Mrs B who did incredibly well organising everything, Mrs J for donating gifts for all and Mrs Q who drummed up lots of support from within our community, resulting in lots of tasty treats. We are incredibly grateful to the ladies within our community who showcased their amazing talents. Finally thank you to all the volunteers for all your hard work, time and efforts. We raised a phenomenal £820.
We finished the week with our Y2 children’s visit to the Science and Industry Museum. The children loved their trip with many going on a train for the first time! Once again we have received comments from members of the public about our children’s exemplary behaviour. We are incredibly proud of the all.
Due to the predicted temperatures for next week, please can all parents end their child in with a water bottle and sun hat. We are encouraging children to come in their PE kit or shorts. Please ensure your child has adequate sunscreen prior to school, there will be opportunity for children to apply this throughout the day.
As we approach the summer holidays, we are pleased to announce that Sports First are once again running their sports and craft clubs. We have been fortunate to receive funding for the full 5 weeks, enabling us to offer this provision alongside Rainbows. Children entitled to benefit-related school meals are able to attend free of charge.

During the summer term, we have a number of events which parents are invited to. Please check the newsletter, MCAS app and website regularly to ensure you don’t miss out.
Our Flowery Festival takes place on the 15th July. Tickets can be booked through Pembee. We have arranged for our Sports Week to take place from Monday 13th July 2026. Within EYFS/KS1 the event will focus on the skills we have been learning in KS1, whilst KS2 events will run as a competitive event.
Thank you for your continued support and we hope you enjoy the sunshine!
