What a lovely start to our final term!
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your support with our Elmer Day. It was lovely to see the children embracing the different activities on offer, whilst celebrating their love of books. We raised an amazing £341 for our new school library.
This week, our phenomenal Year 1 pupils completed their Phonics Screening Check, we could not be prouder of their hard work and determination. Their fantastic results are a true reflection of their effort and enthusiasm. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our parents and carers for your continued support with reading at home and to our dedicated staff for their commitment to helping every child succeed in phonics. Likewise, our Year 4 pupils have performed exceptionally well in their Multiplication Tables Check, we are incredibly proud of the confidence and determination they have shown. Their results reflect the hard work they have put into learning their times tables throughout the year. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our parents and carers for supporting regular practice at home. These skills are essential in helping prepare children for the challenge of Year 5 and 6 Mathematics.
Next Tuesday we are hosting a special event to mark Mr G’s retirement. The children have planned a range of events that reflect Mr G’s passions. We have asked the children to add a touch of Italian or French colours to their uniform to mark his departure. If anyone would like to send a gift to Mr G he is asked for tennis balls!! He is keen to share his love of tennis. I know Mr G has taught members of our parent community. If anyone has any photos or memories of Mr G we would love to include them in our send off. Please send them into school or comment in our memory book. Our final celebration takes place at 2pm on Friday.
During the summer term, we have a number of events which parents are invited too. Please check the newsletter, MCAS app and website regularly to ensure you don’t miss out. Our first event is our family Eid celebration that takes place on Wednesday, followed by our Flowery Festival which takes place on the 15th July. Our Eid event can be booked through the MCAS app and the festival can be booked through Pembee. We have provisionally arranged for our Sports Week to take place from Monday 13th July 2026. Within EYFS/KS1 the event will focus on the skills we have been learning in KS1, whilst KS2 events will run as a competitive event. We will confirm dates asap.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Silk
